GI surgery is a treatment for diseases of the parts of the body involved in digestion i.e Upper gastrointestinal and lower gastrointestinal. Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery includes the esophagus (ee-sof-uh-gus), liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Lower gastrointestinal surgery will deal with the stomach, small intestine, Larger intestine, colon, rectum, anus.
